Roofed Apple Cake
from Uli Meyer, Campbell, CA
(convert to cups from kilograms and grams)

For the filling:   1-1/2 kg apples
                      2 tablespoons unsalted butter
                      1 teaspoon sugar
                      1/8 pound raisins
                      1 knife tip cinnamon
                      1 tablespoon vanilla powder

Cut apples in pieces and sauté in a pot until tender. Let cool down.

For the dough:  300 grams flour
                      100 go sugar
                      180 go unsalted butter
                      1 tablespoon vanilla powder
                      1 egg
                      1 teaspoon baking powder
                      1 pinch salt

Put half of dough into bottom and sides of a spring form pan, poke a few times with fork against air bubbles. Bake on 400F for about 20 minutes (golden brown). Put filling in, put rest of dough on top like a roof and bake again for about 15 minutes (depending on your oven broil, because the top part has to cook).
