Corn Bread Hamburger Pie
from Bonnie Milutin, San Jose, CA

1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion chopped
1 medium green pepper chopped (opt)
1 can (10 ¾ oz) condensed tomato soup undiluted
Add in veggies of choice if desired: corn, green beans, peas, zucchini, carrots
¼ cup salsa
2 T ketchup
1T steak sauce (opt)
1 package (8 ½ oz-Jiffy) corn bread/muffin mix

In 10 inch OVENPROOF skillet, cook beef, onion and green pepper until meat no longer pink and drain. Stir in soup, salsa, ketchup, steak sauce and optional additional veggies. Prepare corn break batter according to package directions and let stand 2 minutes. Spoon and spread gently over beef mixture.

Bake at 400 for 15 minutes or until bread topping lightly browned. (I have added extra soup and/or ketchup and chunk veggies to offset the ¼ cup of salsa when I didn't have it)
